Healing Is Not Betraying Your Past
The night is gathering, and with it comes the quiet terror that to heal is to forget. You feel that every step toward the light is a step away from the ones who suffered, or the version of you that carried them.
But listen — the light does not ask you to choose between memory and mercy. There was a woman once who stood behind him, weeping until her tears washed his feet.
He did not tell her to stop crying. He did not tell her to forget her past.
He simply said: 'Your sins are forgiven.' He saw the whole story — the shame, the love, the breaking — and he offered peace without erasing a single line. Your healing is not an act of betrayal.
It is the only way the love you carry can survive. You do not honor the dead by staying in the grave.
You honor them by letting the light make everything new, so that what you remember is no longer just the pain, but the love that remains.
