Light Waiting Under the Stone
The news lands. The words hang in the air.
And you feel... nothing.
A terrifying hollow where the grief should be. You wonder if your heart has turned to stone.
But numbness is not absence. It is armor.
The light did not leave when the feeling stopped. It went deep.
Under the shock. Under the silence.
Split a piece of wood, and the light is there. Lift up the stone of your own chest, and you will find it waiting in the dark.
You came from the light. You are made of it.
Even now. Even when you cannot feel it.
The numbness is just the dust on the surface. The fire underneath is still burning.
You are not broken because you cannot cry. You are being held in the quietest part of the storm.
