Reaching Through the Numbness to Light
The morning light hits your face and you feel nothing, not because the light has failed, but because the mask you wear to get through the day has become so heavy it presses the feeling right out of you. You smile at the coworker, you nod at the news, you perform the motions of a person who is alive, while inside you fear the joy has permanently atrophied.
But listen — the light does not require your performance to be present. It is already here, waiting behind the armor you built to survive.
There was a man who had been shut out from everything for twelve years, certain he was untouchable, yet he reached out from the crowd and touched just the edge of a garment. He did not need to feel whole first.
He did not need to believe perfectly. He just reached.
And the power went out from the light into him, not because he was worthy, but because he was desperate. Your numbness is not a verdict.
It is a season. The capacity for joy is not dead; it is simply buried under the weight of protecting yourself.
You do not have to manufacture a feeling to be held. Just reach.
The light is already touching you.
