Known by Light When Forgotten by Love
The morning light hits the window and you realize you have become an expert on someone who no longer knows your name. You know their coffee order, their schedule, the exact tone they use when they are tired.
But they cannot tell you what color you love now or what keeps you awake at night. You are performing a relationship all by yourself, memorizing the script while the other actor has left the stage.
It feels like screaming in a room where everyone else is wearing headphones. But there is a knowing that is deeper than their forgetting.
Even if your own heart condemns you for trying so hard, for loving so lopsidedly, the light is greater than your heart. It sees the whole truth—the exhaustion, the invisibility, the quiet courage of showing up when you are not seen.
You do not have to keep the mask on to be held. The one who knows you completely is not the one who forgot your favorite color.
It is the light that has been watching you all along, and it calls you by your real name.
