The Door Was Never Locked
The morning light hits the window and you flinch, convinced you heard the latch click shut behind you. You turn to check, heart hammering, certain the opportunity is gone, the path blocked, the invitation withdrawn.
But look closer. The door is not closed.
It is standing wide open, and you are the one holding it shut with your own trembling hands. The light sees the performance you put on for the world—the smile at work, the nod in the hallway—and it knows the exhaustion of pretending the exit is sealed.
Jesus turned to the woman who thought she was too broken to stay and said, 'Your faith has healed you. Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you.' He did not send her away.
He sent her back into the very life she thought she had lost. The sound you heard was not a lock engaging.
It was the echo of your own fear trying to convince you that you are no longer welcome. The door is open.
Walk through it.
