waking up and realizing the miracle you begged for last night still hasn't happened

The Light Shines Before The Mountain Moves

The morning light hits the wall and the first thing you feel is the weight of the silence. You begged for a miracle last night, and now the sun is up and nothing has changed.

The house is moving, the world is performing, and you are putting on the face that says you are fine. But the mask feels heavy today.

It feels like a lie. You wanted the mountain to move, and it is still there.

Yet the light does not depend on the mountain moving. It shines on the mountain just the same.

There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off. He did not wait for the boy to clean up.

He did not wait for the speech. He ran.

Before the apology, before the fix — he ran. The miracle you begged for was not the change in your circumstances.

It was the realization that you are already seen. The light is not waiting for you to get it right.

It is already here, walking beside you in the ordinary.
