Your Light Does Not Flicker
The morning light hits the screen, and you are staring at those three dancing dots. They appear.
They vanish. They appear again, then disappear into silence.
The mask you wear at work says you are focused, but inside, you are holding your breath, waiting for a word that never arrives. The silence feels like a verdict, as if your worth is suspended in that unsent message.
But listen — the light that lives inside you does not flicker based on someone else's hesitation. Thomas said there is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world.
If it does not shine, it is dark. Your light is not dim because they stopped typing.
It is steady. It is yours.
It was there before the notification arrived, and it remains when the screen goes black. You are not defined by the reply that never came.
You are the light that shines regardless of who is watching.
