the phantom vibration of a phone that hasn't rung in months because you are afraid to be the one who reaches out first

The Invitation Came Before The Apology

The morning light hits the screen, and for a second, you swear it lit up. A phantom vibration.

A ghost of a ring. But the glass stays dark.

It has been months since anyone called, and the silence has grown so heavy you are afraid to be the first one to break it. You wait for the signal that you are wanted, that it is safe to reach out.

But the light does not wait for permission to shine. It simply shines.

There was a man named Zacchaeus who climbed a tree just to see, hidden in the leaves, small and ashamed. He did not clean himself up first.

He did not send a message asking if he was welcome. The light looked up, called his name, and said: I must stay at your house today.

The invitation came before the apology. Before the change.

The light is not waiting for you to prove you are worthy of a call. It is already walking toward your door.

Put the phone down. The connection you are starving for is not a signal you receive.

It is a presence you already carry.
