replacing one addiction with another and pretending that counts as progress

The Light Sees Through Your Mask

The morning light does not care about your costume. It sees the swap you made in the dark—trading one chain for another and calling it freedom.

You tell yourself you are getting better because the poison looks different today. But the eye that is unhealthy fills the whole body with darkness, even if the darkness wears a mask of progress.

You are not fooling the light. It knows the weight you are still carrying.

Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you. Not how much you have achieved.

Not how clean you look. Just the mercy.

The mask is heavy. Take it off.
