the phantom vibration of reaching for a phone that will not light up with their name

Already Held Where No Phone Reaches

The morning light cuts through the window, and your hand jumps to your pocket again. That phantom vibration.

The ghost of a name that hasn't appeared. You are performing okayness for the world while your heart waits for a screen to save you.

But the light sees behind the mask. It sees the hollow space where you keep checking for a signal that isn't coming.

Jesus looked at the woman who thought she was defined by her silence and said, 'Neither do I condemn you.' He does not scold you for the reaching. He simply reminds you that you are already known without the notification.

The door opens for everyone who knocks, even when the room feels silent. You are not waiting to be seen.

You are already held in a place where no phone can reach.
