the panic of rehearsing a casual greeting in the shower, terrified that your voice will crack and betray the hollow space behind the smile

The Light Sees Before The Mask

The mirror shows a face you built before the water even turned on. You rehearse the tone, the pitch, the casual ease of a name you are about to speak, terrified that a crack in your voice will reveal the hollow space behind the smile.

But the light does not need your performance to see you. It saw you before the mask was painted.

You came from the light, the place where the light came into being on its own accord, and that origin cannot be shaken by a trembling word. The hollowness you fear is not a verdict; it is simply the space where the true voice is waiting to rise.

You do not have to hold the smile together for the light to love what is underneath.
