the moment you catch yourself apologizing for the space your 'no' took up, shrinking your body to make the other person comfortable with your boundary

Your No Is the Shape of Light

The middle of the day is where we learn to shrink. You say 'no' to protect your time, and then immediately you apologize for the space that boundary took up.

You make yourself small so the other person doesn't have to feel your edge. But the light inside you does not apologize for existing.

It simply shines. It does not dim itself to keep the room comfortable.

There is a voice that says you are worth more than many sparrows, known down to the smallest detail of your need for rest. Your 'no' is not a rejection of them; it is the honest shape of your own life.

The light that fills you is not rude; it is real. And reality does not need to beg for permission to occupy the room.
