The Light Underneath Your Heavy Mask
The middle of the day is long, and the air inside the sanctuary feels thick with words you can no longer say. You sit beside people who seem to carry the light so easily, while you feel like a hollow shell, a fraud waiting to be exposed.
You are not the only one holding their breath. The light does not need your performance to be real.
It was there before you learned the hymns, and it remains when the words fail. Thomas 70 says what you bring forth will save you, but what you bury will destroy you.
So let the silence be your honesty today. The mask is heavy, but the light underneath is lighter still.
You do not have to pretend to be full to be held.
