You Were Never Meant to Be God
The mask you wear for the world is heavy, but the one you wear for your child feels like it might crush you. You walk through the morning pretending you have the power to keep every bad thing away, while inside you are trembling with the terror that you cannot.
You watch them play, unaware of the storms you are holding back with bare hands, and you wonder what will happen when they finally see you are not the savior they think you are. But listen — the light was never asking you to be God.
It was only asking you to be present. There is a love that holds your child far tighter than your arms ever could, a love that does not depend on your ability to fix the world.
You are not the source of their safety; you are simply the witness to the Light that already lives inside them. The truth is not that you failed to save them, but that they were never yours to save alone.
