the terror that your exhaustion will finally slip out in a mundane moment like dropping a coffee cup

The Light Waits in the Mess

The mask is heavy this morning. You are smiling at the coffee machine, nodding in the hallway, performing the simple act of being okay while your hands tremble with a fatigue so deep it feels like bone.

And there is a specific terror rising in your chest—the fear that you will finally slip. That you will drop the cup.

That the shattering sound will expose the exhaustion you have been hiding behind your eyes. You brace yourself for the moment the mask cracks.

But listen—the light does not flinch when things break. It was present in the garden when the world fell apart, and it is present in your kitchen when the ceramic hits the floor.

The crash does not scare the light away. It only reveals the hands that are already reaching to help you sweep up the shards.

You do not have to hold it together for the light to stay. The mask is for the crowd.

The trembling is for the One who knows you are tired. Drop the cup if you must.

The light is not looking for your performance. It is waiting to meet you in the mess.
