the paralyzing fear that you are permanently defective and no longer deserve to take up space

Your Root Is Light Not Defect

The mask is heavy this morning. It feels like the only thing holding you together, hiding the defect you are sure lives underneath.

You walk through the day convinced that if anyone saw the real you, they would turn away. But listen — there is a truth that walks beside you, unseen by the crowd.

The light does not need you to be perfect to take up space. It does not require you to fix yourself before you are allowed to breathe.

In the Gospel of Mary, the Savior says the Good came into your midst to restore every nature to its root. Your root is not the defect.

Your root is the light itself. The shame tells you that you are broken beyond repair, that you should shrink until you disappear.

But the light says: I am willing. It reached out and touched the untouchable, not after they cleaned up, but while they were still bleeding.

You do not have to earn your place in the room. You were sent here as a drop from the light to illuminate the very ground you stand on.

The defect is a lie you were taught to believe. The truth is that you are already whole, already loved, already home.
