The Mask Blocks The Hand That Holds
The mask is heavy this morning, isn't it? You smile at the coffee machine, you nod in the meeting, but inside you are screaming that if you finally wake someone up to say you're drowning, they will finally pack their bags and leave.
You believe your need is too much, your darkness too demanding. But there is a voice that says the exact opposite: "Do not be afraid; just believe." Not believe that you are fixed.
Believe that you are held. The light does not run from the storm; it walks right into the room where you are pretending to be okay.
It sees the tremor in your hand and it does not flinch. You think your honesty will drive love away.
The truth is, your hiding is the only thing keeping you from being known. The mask protects you from rejection, but it also blocks the one thing you are starving for: the hand that reaches out when you admit you can't swim.
You are not a burden to be dropped. You are a person to be found.
