The Light Beneath Your Heavy Mask
The mask is heavy this morning, isn't it? You rehearsed the conversation a dozen times before your feet even hit the floor.
The perfect words. The sharp reply.
The apology you wish you'd made. But the light does not need your script.
It never asked you to perform okayness for its sake. There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off — and he ran.
Before the speech. Before the rehearsed lines.
He ran. The light is already inside you, waiting beneath the performance.
It does not need you to be flawless to be present. It just needs you to be real.
You are not your mask; you are the light wearing it.
