the quiet certainty that your presence is a burden to everyone who loves you

You Are Not a Burden to the Light

The mask is heavy this morning, isn't it? You walk into the room and feel the air shift, convinced your presence is a weight everyone else has to carry.

You smile at the right moments, you nod, you perform the act of being okay while inside you are sure you are draining the life out of everyone who loves you. But listen — there is a love that does not keep a ledger of burdens.

The Father runs to meet you before you can even apologize for existing. He does not see a problem to be solved or a drain on his resources.

He sees his own. You are not a burden to the light.

You are the place where the light has chosen to live. The very thing you think is too heavy for them to hold is the exact thing they ran to embrace.
