The Light Beneath Your Mask
The mask fits so well this morning that even you are starting to forget what lies beneath it. You walk through the day wearing someone else's expectations, smiling the smile they taught you, speaking the lines they wrote.
It is exhausting to perform a life that does not belong to you. But there is a light inside you that has never worn a costume.
It does not need to pretend to be holy, or strong, or okay. In the quiet space behind your ribs, the truth is already shining, untouched by the role you are playing.
You do not have to earn the right to take the mask off. The light is not waiting for your performance to end before it begins.
It is already there, breathing beneath the disguise, waiting for you to simply stop hiding it.
