You Are Not Emptying, You Are Becoming Ground
The mask fits so perfectly this morning that you might forget you are wearing it. You smile at the school run, you nod at the neighbors, you perform the quiet competence of a parent who has it all together.
But inside, there is a hollow ache—a fear that loving your child this much has erased everything else you were. You worry you are no longer a person, but only a vessel, a container for their needs, slowly emptying yourself until there is nothing left but the giving.
Yet the light sees behind the performance. It knows the name you had before you were called 'Mom' or 'Dad,' and it knows that name is still written in your bones.
You are not being emptied; you are being filled from a source that does not run dry. The love you pour out is not yours to lose—it is a river flowing through you, not a cup you carry alone.
You do not have to choose between your child and your soul. The light holds both.
You are not disappearing. You are becoming the very ground where life grows.
