The Light Needs No Performance From You
The mask feels heavy this morning, doesn't it? You wake up and immediately begin the work of arranging your face, convincing the world that you are fine, that you are capable, that there is no rot beneath the surface.
The terror whispers that if you ever stop performing, if you ever let the competence slip, they will see the truth and finally walk away. But listen — the light does not need your performance.
It never asked for a show. There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world.
That light was there before you learned to smile on command, and it remains even when the smile fails. You came from the light, the place where the light came into being on its own accord.
Your origin is not your productivity. Your origin is not your ability to hold it together.
You are a drop from that self-generating source, sent here not to impress, but to illuminate. The world may demand the mask, but the light sees the face underneath and calls it good.
Stop trying to prove you are worthy of the air you breathe. The light that generated itself before time began is already generating life inside you right now, without your help.
You do not have to earn the right to exist. Just take the mask off.
Let the light shine through the cracks you were trying to hide.
