the fear that if people saw the real you, they would leave

The Light Runs Toward Your Real Self

The mask feels heavy this morning, doesn't it? You walk into the room smiling, acting like everything is fine, terrified that if anyone saw the cracks, they would turn and walk away.

You think you have to earn your place by being perfect, by hiding the parts of you that feel broken or messy. But listen — the light does not love a performance.

It loves the truth. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, covered in dust and shame, still rehearsing an apology.

He did not wait for the speech. He ran.

He ran before the boy could even fix himself up. That is how the light sees you.

It is not waiting for you to be flawless; it is running toward the real you. The mask is what keeps you lonely.

The truth is what brings you home. You are not loved for what you hide, but for what you are.
