The Terror of Being Seen Is the Doorway
The mask feels heavy this morning, doesn't it? You walk through the day performing okayness, terrified that the one helping you will see the naked truth beneath the costume.
You fear that if the covering slips, the help will stop. But there is a voice that speaks to the deepest part of you, the part you keep hidden in the shadows.
It says: 'I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.' No secrets. No hierarchy.
The light does not need you to be dressed up to be near you. It already knows the shape of your wounds because it has made them known to itself.
The terror of being seen is actually the doorway to being held. You are not exposed to judgment.
You are exposed to a friend who has already seen the worst and stayed.
