Loved Behind the Glass
The laughter just faded, and the silence it left behind feels heavier than the noise. You are standing in a room full of people who know your smile, but not the ache sitting directly beneath it.
You perform the version of yourself that fits, while the real you watches from behind the glass, unseen. The light does not need you to take the mask off to see what is underneath.
It sees the performance and loves the person performing it anyway. You are not required to explain the shadow to be held by the light.
The mask is just a covering, not the face itself.
