Resting Beneath the Mask You Wear
The laugh left your mouth a second too late, louder than you intended, and for a heartbeat, you watched their eyes to see if they caught the calculation behind it. You are tired of the performance, tired of the gap between the noise you make and the silence you carry inside.
But the light does not need you to be entertaining. It only needs you to be real.
There is a peace that does not depend on how well you play the part. The Father sees the mask, and he sees the face beneath it, and he loves the one who is hiding just as much as the one who is performing.
You do not have to earn your place at the table by being the loudest voice in the room. The light is already sitting beside you, not asking for a show, just waiting for you to stop working so hard.
The performance is exhausting, but the presence is rest. You are not loved for the laugh.
You are loved for the quiet person who needed to laugh.
