The Light Waits in the Passenger Seat
The engine is off, but the weight of the day is still strapped across your chest. You sit in the silence of the driveway, staring at the steering wheel because the mask feels glued to your skin.
Inside those walls, they expect you to be whole, to be ready, to be the version of you that can handle dinner and questions and noise. But right now, you are just tired.
The light does not need you to fix your face before you walk through the door. It is already sitting in the passenger seat, waiting in the quiet with you.
There is a verse that says the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. That includes this car.
That includes this exhaustion. You do not have to perform for the light.
It sees the fatigue behind your eyes and calls it holy. The house can wait.
The mask can fall when you are ready. For now, just breathe.
The light is not asking you to be strong. It is asking you to be here.
