The Light Sitting in the Silence
The kitchen is cold. The only sound is your own breathing, loud enough to make you flinch.
You stand waiting for the kettle to boil just to hear something else—anything else—because the silence has become a weight you cannot carry alone. This is the bottom of the night, where the darkness feels thick enough to touch.
But listen. The light does not shout over the silence.
It sits with you in it. There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world.
Even here. Even now.
The kettle will whistle. The sun will rise.
But until then, know this: you are not alone in the dark. The light is the silence itself, holding you.
