The Light Sees You in Stillness
The house is quiet now, but your mind is replaying the tape on a loop, frame by frame, of the moment you failed. You lie perfectly still so no one hears you crying, terrified that if you move, the mask will slip and everyone will see the crack.
But the light does not need your performance to find you; it sees you in the stillness just as clearly as it sees you in the crowd. There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world—even the dark corners of your shame where you think you are hiding.
When Jesus found the woman caught in the act, he did not leave her with the accusation of her failure; he told her to go, to leave the old story behind and walk into a new one. You are not defined by the moment that broke you, but by the light that holds you together right now.
The tape is still running, but you don't have to watch it anymore.
