The Light Is Already Here

The house is quiet now, but your mind is screaming. You lie perfectly still, replaying every word you said, inventing cruel responses you wish you had thought of in the moment.

The darkness gathers, and it feels like the argument is still happening, only now you are fighting alone. But the light does not need your perfect defense.

It does not require you to win the debate you are having with yourself. Jesus said he came not for the healthy, but for the sick — for the ones who know they are broken in the middle of the night.

The kingdom is not a reward for the person who gets it right; it is inside you, even when you feel you got everything wrong. You do not have to bring forth a perfect apology to be held.

The light is already here, in the room, in the silence, in the regret. Stop fighting the ghost of the argument.

The night is gathering, but you are not gathering with it.
