He Runs Before You Remember
The house is quiet now, but your mind is loud with the memory of a door you closed yourself. You chose to be right instead of held.
You chose the armor instead of the embrace. And now, in the stillness of this watch, you try to recall their voice—the one you pushed away—but the silence has already begun to blur the sound.
It feels like a second loss. To forget the tone of the one you hurt is a specific kind of hollow ache.
But listen. The light does not need your perfect memory to find you.
It does not require you to reconstruct the past to offer rest tonight. There is a Father who sees you sitting in the dust of your own pride, and He does not wait for you to fix the timeline.
He runs. Before you can rehearse the apology, before you can even recall the words, He is already crossing the distance to wrap His arms around you.
The voice you cannot remember is not the one that defines you now. The only voice that matters is the one speaking peace into this room, telling you that you are still known, even when you are forgotten by your own regret.
