Put the script down and breathe
The house is quiet now, but your mind is loud with a speech you never meant to give. You are rehearsing an apology for things you didn't do, just to make the silence stop.
You practice the words in the shower, in the car, in the mirror—trying to smooth over a jagged edge that isn't yours. The mask feels heavy this morning, glued on with words you don't believe.
But there is a voice that does not need your performance to stay close. It stood at a door once and knocked, not to demand entry, but to share a meal.
It does not want your polished speech. It wants your presence.
You do not have to earn the right to take up space today. The light sees the mask, and it sees the face beneath it, and it loves both without condition.
Put the script down. The silence is not a verdict waiting to be delivered; it is simply a room where you can finally breathe.
