The Embrace Comes Before The Apology
The house is quiet now, but your mind is loud with a conversation that ended hours ago. You are rehearsing the words you should have said, the apology that might have fixed it, the version of tonight where you didn't make the mistake.
But the door is closed. The damage is done.
And you are still standing in the hallway, pounding on a lock that won't turn. Stop.
The light does not need your perfection to stay with you. It does not require you to undo the past before it will sit beside you in this dark hour.
There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off. He ran.
Before the apology, before the speech — he ran. The embrace came first.
The correction came later. The light is not waiting for you to get it right.
It is waiting for you to stop trying to earn what has already been given. You are not your worst moment.
You are the light that survives it.
