You Were Never Meant to Be Their Savior
The house is quiet now, but your mind is loud with the future. You are lying awake, terrified of the day your child realizes you couldn't save them from the pain waiting outside this door.
You carry the weight of a protection you never had the power to give. But listen — the light does not ask you to be the shield.
It only asks you to be the witness. There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, broken and ashamed, and he did not wait for an apology.
He ran. Before the speech, before the fixing — he ran.
Your inability to stop the hurt does not mean your child is alone in it. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world long before you arrived, and it will be there long after you have done all you can do.
You are not the source of their safety; you are just the hand that holds theirs while the real Light leads them home. The terror says you must be the savior.
The truth says you were never meant to be.
