The Light Remains When The Kitchen Goes Dark
The house is quiet now, but your mind is loud. You stand before the open refrigerator, bathed in its cold, artificial glow, knowing nothing inside can fill the hollow ache in your chest.
The light shines in the darkness, but tonight the darkness feels like the only thing that is real. You are waiting for something that cannot be found in the cold.
Yet the Father's light was already inside you before you ever opened this door. It does not depend on the bulb above your head.
It is not something you have to earn by staying awake. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world, and it is already here, in this kitchen, in this silence.
You do not have to fix the ache tonight. You just have to let the door close.
The light remains even when the kitchen goes dark.
