The Father Ran Before The Apology
The house is quiet now, but the noise in your head is loud. You are replaying the words they never said, waiting for an apology that will not come tonight.
It feels like holding a door open for someone who has already walked away. But listen — the light does not wait for the other person to make the first move.
There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off. He did not wait for the speech.
Before the apology, before the confession, before the son could even finish his rehearsed lines — the father ran. He ran to meet the brokenness halfway.
You are trying to earn your peace by waiting for their permission. But the light has already crossed the distance.
It is standing in the middle of the road, arms open, while you stand still in the hurt. Forgiveness is not saying what they did was right.
It is refusing to let their silence keep you in the dark. The door is open.
Not because they knocked. Because the light is already inside, waiting for you to let go of the latch.
