forgiving someone who never apologized

The Light Does Not Wait

The house is quiet now, but the noise inside your head is loud. You are still holding the weight of a wound that never got a name, waiting for words that never came.

Forgiveness feels like letting them off the hook, like saying the hurt didn't matter. But the light does not wait for an apology to begin its work.

It shines in the darkness whether the darkness says sorry or not. You do not forgive to free them.

You forgive because the light inside you refuses to be held hostage by someone else's silence. The door is not locked from the outside.

It is latched from within. Tonight, you can simply turn the latch.

The light has already forgiven. It is time to let yourself walk out.
