The Father Ran Before The Apology
The house is quiet now, and the terror arrives with the silence. You lie awake calculating the cost of their life against the pieces of yourself you set aside to build it.
You fear the day they will see the ledger, feel the crushing weight of a debt they never asked for, and shrink under the burden of your sacrifice. But listen — the light does not keep accounts.
There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, and before the apology could even form on the boy's lips, the father ran. He did not run to collect what was owed.
He ran to embrace the one who was found. The gift you gave was not a loan to be repaid.
It was a reflection of the love that first reached for you. Your child will not inherit a debt.
They will inherit the freedom of being loved without condition. The light does not demand payment.
It only demands that you receive it, and let it flow through you, free and clear.
