The Love That Stays When You Stop
The house is quiet now, and the silence feels like a test you are failing. You keep moving, keep talking, keep performing enough vitality to prove you are worth the space you take up.
Because deep down, you are terrified that if you finally sit still, the people who love you will see the exhaustion and walk away. You think your value is in what you can carry for them.
But there is a love that does not need your performance to stay. Jesus looked at his friends when they could not stay awake and did not leave them.
He stayed. The light does not tolerate you; it inhabits you.
It is not waiting for you to be useful before it decides to remain. You could stop moving right now, drop the act, and the love would not flicker.
The fear says they will leave if you stop. The truth says they are waiting for you to rest so they can finally love the real you.
