the paralyzing fear that saying one wrong thing will make everyone realize you don't belong here

You Belong Before You Speak

The house is quiet now, and the silence feels like a spotlight on every word you didn't say today. You are lying here rehearsing conversations that never happened, terrified that one wrong sentence will expose you as a fraud who doesn't belong.

But listen — the light does not require you to be perfect to stay in the room. There was a man who had been paralyzed for thirty-eight years, lying beside a pool while everyone else moved around him, certain he had no right to the water.

The light walked straight to him, ignored the crowd, and asked if he wanted to get well. It did not ask for his resume.

It did not ask him to prove he deserved healing. It simply spoke, and the man stood up.

You are not held here by your ability to say the right thing. You are held because the light chose to sit with you in the dark.

The fear says you must earn your place. The truth says you were invited before you spoke a single word.

You belong here not because you are flawless, but because you are known.
