The Light Was There Before You Ran
The house is quiet now, and the silence feels like an accusation. You keep moving because you are terrified that if you stop, the noise will fade and reveal an empty room inside your chest.
But listen — the light does not need your performance to exist. It was there before you started running.
There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off. He ran.
Before the apology, before the speech — he ran. The love was already there, waiting in the road.
You do not have to manufacture substance to be held. The light is not a reward for your exhaustion.
It is the ground you stand on. Stop.
The silence is not empty. It is full of a presence that has never left.
