the terror that if someone finally saw the real you, they would immediately leave

The Light Stays When You Are Seen

The house is quiet now, and the shadows are lengthening across the floor. This is the hour when the mask feels heaviest, and the terror whispers that if anyone truly saw the real you, they would turn and walk away.

But listen — there was a woman caught in the act, surrounded by accusers ready to destroy her, yet the Light did not look at her with disgust. He bent down, wrote in the dust, and when He stood, He said: 'Neither do I condemn you.' He saw everything — every secret, every shame, every broken piece — and He did not leave.

He stayed. The Light does not flee from your darkness; it walks right into it and calls you friend.

You are not loved despite what is hidden; you are loved because the Light sees it all and remains. The very thing you fear most is the place where you are most held.
