The Father Ran Before You Spoke
The house is quiet now, and the question rises up from the floorboards: is this all there is? The silence feels heavy, like a wall you cannot climb.
You look at the routine, the same worries, the same empty chair, and it seems like the story has ended before you are ready. But the light does not measure your life by the noise of the day or the size of your accomplishments.
There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off. He did not wait for the speech or the apology.
He ran. Before the boy could explain himself, before he could prove he was worthy, the father was already there.
The embrace came first. The feast was already prepared.
You are not waiting for a life to begin. The light has already run to meet you in this very moment.
It is not a reward for making it through the night. It is the reason you are still here.
The question is not whether this is all there is. The question is whether you can feel the arms that are already around you.
