The Sun Rises Anyway
The house is quiet now, and the morning light is just finding its way onto the counter. You are standing in the aisle, staring at the small carton because the large one feels like a promise you can no longer keep.
It is a heavy thing, to measure your life by how much you can carry before it spoils. But notice how the sun rises anyway, spilling its gold over the floor without asking if you are ready for it.
The light does not wait for you to be big again before it shines. It is already here, warming the back of your neck, sufficient for this single, ordinary moment.
You do not need to buy the future today. You only need to hold what fits in your hand right now.
The kingdom of God is not in the size of the container, but in the bread you break this morning.
