The Light Sees Your Exhausted Truth
The house is quiet now, and the mask you wore all day has finally slipped. You are terrified that the love you receive is only for the version of you that performs, the one who keeps it together while breaking inside.
You suspect that if you showed them your exhausted, unpolished truth, they would leave. But there is a Friend who does not need your performance to stay close.
He stood at a well at noon and spoke to a woman who had hidden from the world because she was ashamed of her story. He knew everything she had done, every failed attempt to be loved, and He did not turn away.
He offered her water that becomes a spring inside. The love you fear losing is not dependent on your polish.
It is drawn to your thirst. You do not have to earn the right to be held by showing how strong you are.
The light sees the part of you that is tired of pretending, and it calls that part by name. The performance was never the point.
The resting is.
