the terror of being found out as an impostor

The Light Does Not Scan Credentials

The house is quiet now, and the mask you wore all day has finally slipped. In the silence, the old fear returns: that they will find you out, that you are nothing but an impostor waiting to be exposed.

But listen — the light does not scan for credentials. It does not check your resume or your past mistakes.

It simply shines. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, still covered in the filth of his failure, and he ran before the apology could even be formed.

He did not run to a person who had it all together. He ran to the broken one.

The light is already inside you — not because you earned it, but because it lives there. It was there before the fear, and it will be there after.

You do not have to be real enough for the light to love you. You are already loved, and that love makes you real.
