You Are Already Home
The house is quiet now, and the inventory of the day begins. You lie there calculating the cost of your mistakes, convinced that love is a loan you must repay with flawless behavior.
One wrong word, one imperfect moment, and you fear the ledger will close. But listen — the Father saw you coming while you were still a long way off, covered in the dust of your failures, and he ran.
He did not wait for your speech. He did not wait for you to clean yourself up.
He ran to meet you before you could even apologize. Love is not a debt you owe.
It is a gift you receive. You are not a borrower trying to earn your keep.
You are a child who is already home.
