Seen Resting Under the Fig Tree
The house is quiet now, and the hands that have been holding everyone else up are finally shaking. You are terrified that if you stop fixing the broken things around you, the people you love will look closely and see the cracks in your own foundation—and then they will leave.
But the light does not love you for what you carry. It loves you for who you are when you put the burden down.
There was a man named Nathanael who asked how the light knew him, and the answer was simply: I saw you. Not when you were working.
Not when you were performing. I saw you resting under the fig tree, doing nothing at all.
You are already seen in your stillness. The mask is heavy, but your face is known.
The fear says they will walk away if you stop moving. The truth says they will finally meet you if you stop hiding.
