Love Runs Before You Apologize
The house is quiet now, and the hallway feels longer than it did this morning. You are sitting in the dark, replaying the sharp words you spoke, wondering if they felt the distance you were hiding behind your smile.
But listen — the light does not require you to be perfect before it stays with you. There is a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off, still covered in the filth of his mistakes, and he ran before the apology could even begin.
He did not wait for the speech. He did not wait for the cleanup.
He ran. That same love is sitting on the floor with you in this hallway right now.
It knows the distance you tried to hide, and it is not afraid of it. The day is done, and you are allowed to put the armor down.
You do not have to fix what was broken today to be held tonight.
