The Light Keeps Watch While You Rest
The house is finally quiet, and the armor you wore all day is heavy on the floor. You stand in the doorway, watching your child sleep, but your mind is tracing the shadows of their dreams—afraid they are walking through pain you cannot see.
In this exhale, the fear whispers that the darkness has already won inside them. But listen—the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
That same light is breathing in your child's chest right now, deeper than any nightmare, brighter than any fear you can imagine. It was there before the pain started, and it will be there when the morning comes.
You do not have to stay awake to keep the dark away. The light is already keeping watch.
Rest now, because the One who watches never sleeps.
